  
The term, "Imperial Gallic" refers to those helmets clearly derived from native Gallic originals, and probably also made by Gallic craftsmen once this region was absorbed into the Empire. "Imperial Italic" refers to the same style of helmet, but those exhibiting features and techniques suggesting they were probably made in Italy.
