Poem 'Indian Summer'

Cherry trees blossom in this January Indian summer
Warm desert breeze rustles through evergreeens
Palm tress sway in the azure heavens.
Ripples on the lake lend texture and movement
To an otherwise tranquil canopy for the underworld.
Up above not a cloud.
Winged creatures acrobat with precision flight,
Free they are, to be exactly what they are
A marvel.
Sun's rays have penetrated this cavernous shield.
The heart pumps natural hot springs
Within this matrix called life.
Everything programmed so perfectly.
Sprinklers mist dark green edges of nature
Music filters through acoustical sound boxes.
Cream and baby blue lounge chairs line up in formation
Olympic sparkling pool entertains springboard shadow
Umbrellas and drink stands wait to be of service.
A combed sandy beach
Remembers the pounding of children's feet.
Shadows stretch easterly,
While sunlight, gently recedes to the west.
A wooden path, allows one to walk on water
During this January Indian summer.
