Italy as Penne
or Fiery Tomato
Caligola, (born during the 12 AD in Antium) was the third Emperor of Rome after Augustus and Tiberius. Honest to God he was not what we use to call today a Saint man… let’s even say that he was a little bit crazy and also always very upset with almost everybody. Now you maybe would like to ask me why I’m speaking about this Roman Emperor and not about my Penne… Easy! Everything is connected. You should know that Mr. Caligola became such a crazy and upset man with the rest of the world after he tasted my fiery hot Tomato Penne! Mhmm… they are dangerous… but very delicious! Now, are you ready to become crazy and upset as Caligola with just a dish of my Fiery hot Penne? Why not to try ? But I tell you before “this recipe is not for pansy…”
These are the ingredients for 3 hungry people:
500 gr (1 lb) of Penne
500 gr (1 lb) of Ripe Tomatoes
2 cloves of Garlic
1 white Onion
2 or 3 strips of Bacon
Red hot chili (as you can handle it)
Salt and oil of olive
Fresh Parsley & Pecorino cheese
WOW!!! Let’s start. Chop with the bacon, garlic, onion and chili in little pieces… and add all in a heavy based pan where you heat a couple of spoons of oil of olive (or if you prefer butter). Let’s cook all these for at least 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally avoiding to burn them.
At this point after we have peeled and chopped the tomatoes, finally we can add them in the pan with the onion, garlic, chili and bacon.
Season with salt and Fresh ground black pepper to taste.
Let’s cook without covering over medium heat for at least 5 minutes, just the time need to dry a little bit the water of the tomato, to but not too long… because I like the taste of the fresh tomato not the taste of the overcooked tomato and then continue to cook over low heat for other 10 minutes simmering..
When the sauce is almost ready, let’s boil the water for the pasta in a large pan.
Let’s add the salt and cook the pasta al dente. When the pasta is Ready let’s drain it and let pour the pasta in the pan with the sauce. Mix it all a couple of minutes in the pan over high heat adding the pecorino cheese grated… and ready to get crazy!!!!!!
